Airlines charging for checking in Luggage
Can you believe that American Airlines is charging $15 for one piece of checked in luggage? They are claiming this is to counter the high jet fuel prices. But how will this affect the passangers? I mean, why would anyone check in luggage then? I can see passangers now have carry-ons to avoid this charge, which surely will slow down the boarding of the planes. Also, the main reason I check luggage, is to avoid having to place all my liquids in a zip-lock, plus not having to only carry 3-ozs of them. This will most likely slow down the security check as well. If fact, this may even backfire on AA, due to delays of these flights. Supposedly United Airlines and a few other carriers are considering this charge as well. Wow, these gas prices has affected all traveling options.
